    late afternoon

my hands are still all gwar-y.  even my nostrils are gwar-y...when I blow my nose it's all purple-red-nasty.  this will be around for a long time...the concert that never fully goes away.
I wish I had kept my earplugs, I would've taken a picture of them.  they were so soaked that I can only imagine what my ear canals would've looked like without them.

    "Gwar accepts mastercard and visa"

So this is what I look like after a Gwar concert. The jacket is untouched because it was around my waist, although the sleeves and my jeans were completely soaked. When I took a shower after it was like Janet Leigh was being murdered again. Luckily, everything came off most places. My hands are still pretty funky.

    Otherwise, tons of fun.

    done, and....done.

My job might be more fun with a video ipod. I took the ole laptop with me but couldn't get a wireless connection. Ah, such is life. Luckily I had a pile of reading material so there was no boredom.
I've found one more good thing about being single: at the end of the month I'm not triaging my phone calls due to the possibility of going over on my minutes. Perhaps I will know it is true love when my prince arrives on his white stallion carrying a Sprint phone.
Speaking of which, they keys on my phone appear to be jammed.

I don't want to go to work.

I don't know what it is about this weekend but in twelve short hours I feel like I'm going to be curled in the fetal position clutching freddy bear.
Work is inevitable, so either I go in stinky or go in groomed. So bring on the grooming.

    Friday morning malaise

For those of you who are wondering, the answer is "just ok."
For those of you who aren't, be secure in the knowledge that it was just
ok. not good, not bad, just ok.
I've got to move out of town, kids. Like, yesterday. Like, last Labor
    Day.
The cold weather so far is killing my skin. This past summer I gave up
my habit of hemp hand cream and gloves and right now I'm paying for it
DEARLY. Off to the Body Shop for me! Which means going to the mall
    with the Coach store. sigh.
And you know what else? Every one of my lip balms has either reached
the end of its life or is just now ending.

    I need $300.

I should have no problem getting Studio 8 for work use, as I use the
products contained within on a daily basis. For home use, well, that
will be tricky. I'm broke. I'm so close to being out of credit card
debt that I can't bear to spend anything, not even to renew my gym
    membership.

one more down: the colorado kid by stephen king

There was no movie on the flight from DFW to BNA and with a dead ipod I had to think of something. i ended up buying this at the newsstand because I keep reading about how they're reviving the lost art of the pulp novel, etc. I prefer king's short stories, so this was right up my alley. when did he get all sentimental, though?

one more down: Roses are Red by James Patterson

Lent to me by a co-worker. This isn't the kind of book I would have ever picked out to read, but I must admit I enjoyed it. short chapters made it great for reading in between sessions last week at max and it moved pretty fast. kind of like watching a big budget film.

    glad it's over

there's something about the first day back at work after time off that makes the whole day more tiring than normal.  I just want to gather my co-workers and tell them all about it at once.

but my ipod works and that's all that matters.

and why does the lady who played elvira still look great?

I had fun, but I'm glad to be home.

I missed Denny like crazy, and there's really nothing like using your own potty, especially when recovering from a meal that did not agree with you.

My ipod is working. no idea why the charger did not work, but it's charging off my computer, so, rock. And I will.

My favorite part of the trip: going inside the El Capitan theatre in Hollywood
My least favorite part of the trip: dizzy spells and vomiting.

Better in Disneyland: Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, efficient use of space, proximity to hotel, actual ride experience, Tiki Room, heathier food choices
Better at Disney World: Haunted Mansion, It's Tough to Be a Bug, Muppetvision, cast member interaction, variety of character meals, free shuttles, the Castle, food options, theming, crowd control, Monorail
Tie: Tower of Terror, Buzz Lightyear, Pooh, Star Tours, Jungle Cruise, Thunder Mtn

    More later, including photos.

    My feet hurt.

It started off with a whimper, not with a bang. Listen, on your first visit to the Magic Kingdom no matter how many times you'v'e been you should ALWAYS walk through the front gates. The monorail drops you off in Tomorrowland which means you bypass the whole Main Street experience.

Also, the Matterhorn kind of sucks. Sorry, but it does. Maybe if I'd grown up here I'd think differently.

But overall, my first day ever at Disneyland was pretty fantastic. It didnt really feel all Disney until the middle of the day, but eventually it did and that's what matters.

The coolest part was the Pooh ride stopping and we had to get out of our ride vehicles and walk out, which was SO cool. They even let us take pictures in the ride, more on that later.

Pirates is definitely better here, but the Blue Bayou restaurant was a disappointment. I loved sitting at the water side table but the food was just ok.

I bought my first pin too! and the golden ears uou see below, so I'm a DORK!

    hollywood: now tranny hooker free!

Last night Julie drove us in to Hollywood and it was COOL. We walked up Hollywood Blvd from Vine St to the Chinese Theatre. AND we saw the El Capitan, which is where Citizen Kane premiered. The lobby employee let us in to look at the lobby, the balcony, and the theatre itself (the balcony was open). The chinese theatre is just what you'd expect, and we got to ride the Metro. You know I love the mass transit! Also saw the Hollywood sign, lots of stars on the walk of fame, but not many colorful characters. Pictures to come soon.

    some notes

    1. Nothing is nastier than walking through someone's flatulence. Seriously.
    2. I need a real, sit down meal. I skipped lunch because I wasn't hungry and now i'm dying for a steak, chicken filet, hamburger, ANYTHING of substance. I can't do starchy finger foods!
    3. I'm so cold all day long. Apparently, the rain and clouds that never every come to southern CA wait until I get here. It is 2:30 ish and I am FREEZING. It is 67 degrees outside and even colder in this convention center.

    one day down

So here I am in rainy southern california. I thought it was perpetually sunny here? So far it's been rainy and chilly.

I'll spare you MAX details as I'm sure there are blogs out there with better information than I can give.

Yesterday any time I went anywhere I heard Madonna songs. So bizarre! It was everywhere, too!

    I'm in the OC, bitch

    Here I am!

I woke up at the butt crack of dawn to get to the airport. I watched music videos this morning. I haven't followed pop music in so long, and there is some CRAP out there right now. My Hump being a notable nugget...First, whoever wrote this song thought "yeah, this is acceptable for public consumption." Secondly, the Black Eyed Peas thought "yeah, we like this enough to put on a record." Thirdly, the label said "oh sure, let's make a video!" So, there we have it. They actually make Stacey Ferguson pretty in the video, not at all manly.

But that has nothing to do with the fact that I am in Anaheim typing this while looking at the pool. I think I'm going to walk to downtown disney for dinner in a minute. But y'all, Disneyland is right smack in the middle of the city. I mean, no trees, no grass, just building building building DISNEYLAND. I saw the Tower of Terror and the giant bear. My cab driver probably thought I was a huge hillbilly.

    Oh, and my ipod's dead.

    Almost ready...

I spent last night packing all my stuff and watching both new AND old Degrassi. I'm a notorious overpacker, but I do have this new suitcase. It's an early birthday gift from my momma. I'll post a picture later.

At any rate, it looks like the weather in Anaheim is going to be about the same as it is here, and will be nasty and rainy when I get there.

I'll be blogging as much as I can during the conference part and the vacation part.
I'll be missing Neil Diamond while I'm gone, but I've heard that California Screamin' is open now.

    Hey! Yoder! Over here!

The Amish are a frequent sight here at the medical center, but they make
me have a mini moral dilemma. I now have this camera phone, and I think
the Amish are fascinating (see: Devil's Playground), and their young
men are often hot. So I want to take a picture. But I know that they
believe that graven images are forbidden, and photographs are a graven
image, so I want to respect that belief. Right. But I personally do
not believe that to be true, so I'm go for pictures, right? But what if
they're right and my one picture is the thing that keeps them out of
heaven? But sometimes they have cell phones (even CAMERA PHONES) so
maybe graven images are the least of their worries? And this all causes
me to question my own beliefs and I fall down in the spot where I'm
standing and erupt into a fountain of tears and when I finally come to
my senses the work day is over.
