Yesterday was the Martha O'Bryan Ice Cream Crankin. For those not in the know, a group of mostly PC-USA churches (there were a few other denoms represented) get together, make a ton of ice cream, and hand out scoops to the fine, $8 a head paying folks who show up on a hot summer's day. There's entertainment (singers, bands, jugglers), contests, and lots of ice cream. The winner was Chocolate Praline, a flavor I didn't see, in fact, I don't think I've ever tried the winner d'annee because it's usually something I'm not into.

I never do vote for the people's choice, but had I done so it would've been difficult to decide which was the best. Cucumber Lime sorbet was absolutely amazing, very light flavor, the perfect sorbet. Lemon Razzmatazz, lemon icebox pie ice cream with raspberry (apparently they were angling for a win judging by the home made glittery badges several folks were wearing). Buttered popcorn, a flavor that sounds as disgusting as the ice cream was delicious--if you like butter pecan you'd like this--not terribly sweet, buttery flavor. Yummy.
