    Friday Night Random

    • I am done with my therapist. DONE. I hate my therapy as I've documented here before, and I'm getting that real impersonal feeling from my therapist. I'm not expecting her to know me as well as Sally, but I do at least expect her not to ask me every week which medication I'm on, what dosage, and a few other questions which only dredge up the past. Plus I notice her staring off into space.

    • I'm watching some outtakes from the show House. What's amazing is that even when Hugh Laurie flubs his lines he doesn't revert to his hot, Brit accent. Did I ever mention that my sister didn't know Laurie was a Brit until she saw him on Inside the Actor's Studio a few weeks ago? It's true.

    • Flashica Simpson, Captain Eyeboogers, Mr Milk Mustache, Crooked Teeth Dog is here. Yes, we all make up names for our pets. Good times. Denny is also known and Dennis, Little Man, Mon Petit Monstre, Mon Favori Chien Brun, Old Man. Yes, Denny is bi-lingual.

    • Have you seen this horrid Gap commercial, the one with Audrey Hepburn dancing to Back in Black? It should be known that I love the ACDC, and Audrey Hepburn is fantastic. The two, however, should not be combined under any circumstances. NEVER. I'm on the Gap's mail list and normally have no complaints with them, but this time I draw the line.

    • I do not understand fashion. First, I watch Project Runway and don't see a damn thing wrong with Kayne's creation. This is not just because I love Kayne, it's also because it was a gorgeous dress that, if put in my size, would look amazing on me. So the morning after I watch the ProjRun I see a woman crossing the road on the way to work. I can't tell if she's a homeless woman wrapped in a blanket or a panfully fashionable woman wearing a giant cloak. This is one of those parts of town where it could go either way.

    • I've been enjoying a ginmonade. That's gin and lemonade mixed. Try it!

    • I've been cooking lately. I have some garlic bulbs left from Julie's visit when she made an amazing Caesar salat. I sauteed some green bell peppers, minced garlic, and fresh basil in olive oil and added whole wheat penne pasta. Delicious. So I have enough left over for more fun.

Now, it should be noted that before I was the exotic yet bitter grande dame some call Sheila and before he was DR Gay, we were just budding high school hag and pal (yeah, yeah) who spend many after school hours and snow days cooking chicken, rice, chicken with rice, chicken with assorted spices, etc. I think you understand...the short version is we did a lot of kitchen experimentation. Well, I still do, I'm sure Dr G still does with his fancy Cook's Illustrated subscription and all. So tonight I made a pizza with a pre-made crust, sauteed minced garlic, chopped basil, chopped spinach, fresh (like the stuff you have to get in the DELI) mozzarella, and sliced green and red bell peppers. It turned out amazing...belle et delicieux. Of course, if I had it to do over again I'd use two or three cloves of sauteed and minced garlic, more basil, and maybe some parmesan or reggiano cheese. You may want to try it with pine nuts, tomatoes, and sliced garlic instead. Maybe oregano, red onions, toasted sesame seeds? Good times.

    • I need a Gocco. If you can give me one, do so. I've looked on ebay and that's somewhat helpful, I just hoped to pay less for one. By the way, would it be worth my while to post my Amazon wish list or perhaps a link crediting my Amazon Associates account?

    • Charles Busch is a genius.

So easy i could do it. And I did week. 'Twas a hit! But I put in too much peanut butter for my tastes. And I left out the red peppers and cilantro because they are both of the devil.
