CRAZY
3/27/2006
My dreams have been super crazy lately. Super vivid, super detailed, super realistic. As in--ok, you know those dreams where you have to pee but you can't find a bathroom and when you do it's open and in the middle of a thoroughfare or some other high traffic area? Yeah, well I had one of those. And then last night I dreamed MJ from the Real World somewhere or other worked at my local library. I should really start with the dream diary thing. My psyche is messed up and I should really share that with the internets.
But anyway, some time during the night I turned off BOTH my alarm clocks (yes, I have two). Luckily I woke up in time to at least get ready (no shower so don't stand too close if you know what's good for you) and get to work. In addition, the cafeteria was crazy busy this morning. Usually there may be one or two people in front of me in line, but not this morning. it was as though every single resident in this hospital decided to get breakfast at the same time. But no, I didn't run into THE BACHELOR TRAVIS STORK, he must've been the one resident who didn't get the memo. Or perhaps he was out riding his bike on some mountain trail? He looks like the sort to ride a bike on a mountain trail. If he weren't a reality tv whore I'd totally mountain trail bike ride with him, but reality show people scare me a little bit. By the way, one day I'll get my sister to share her story about the time she was treated by THE BACHELOR TRAVIS STORK, back when he was just the bachelor Travis Stork (lowercase).

Sen John Edwards

Got to see John Edwards speak last night (the senator, not the psychic). Really enjoyed it. Won't recap it here, you'll find it a million other places.

After the crafty it's the aftercrafty
I missed crafty tonight due to work (at the second job I quit last month) but managed to make the crafty afterparty at PM. Good times. But that's not the point here.
I'm itchy all over. it took me a minute, but it's the combination of using scented fabric softener AND not putting on lotion this morning. See, I DIDN'T put the lotion on its skin, so I totally deserve the hose again.

One More Down: Cell by Stephen King
wow. So, what are you trying to tell us, Mr Stephen King? From a review on Amazon.com:
In Cell King taps into readers fears of technological warfare and terrorism. Mobile phones deliver the apocalypse to millions of unsuspecting humans by wiping their brains of any humanity, leaving only aggressive and destructive impulses behind. Those without cell phones, like illustrator Clayton Riddell and his small band of "normies," must fight for survival, and their journey to find Clayton's estranged wife and young son rockets the book toward resolution. Don't sugarcoat it, give it to us straight. A little spoiler here: The cell phone zombies listen to light rock, easy listening, and popular classical music. Wow. I wish I could figure out the message you're putting across, Mr King. I guess things are what they are. also, nice return to your apocalyptic template. Labels: books

One More Down: the End of an Error by Mameve Medwed
3/12/2006
good question: is it selfish to do what is right for you, even if it may harm others? do you settle for the comfort of second best or risk everything for a chance at your first choice? Light and fluffy, but it did provoke some thought. Is who you are the result of what people want you to be? Are all your choices a result of what you believe people expect from you?
Think about it, won't you? Labels: books

SOLD!
![]() Ok, no one wanted the blasted elephant earrings but I DID sell my rose quartz necklace. Of course, it was my mom who bought it, but still, YAY! I even threw in a pair of matching earrings. Here's the newest thing I've made. Goes well with the spring green, right? And it's got the added bonus of MAYBE containing dinosaur DNA. So, right now I'm selling anything for pretty much the cost of materials and then a couple extra dollars on top of that. Labels: pictures

From the West Nashville Charlotte Salvation Army store
Be Your Own Pet is a local band. I've never heard a note of their music, they've got a local reputation I won't get into here (most of what I've heard came from an ex-boyfriend). So there's this CD at the local SA family store with the following post-it attached. Curious to know how it ended up there, but not being an empath it will have to remain a mystery. And no, I don't remember the name of the band (Young something or other?). Sorry. It's probably still there.

WHY WHY WHY?
3/10/2006
My mobile posts don't seem to be making it. Grr. Well, here's a quick run down:
Worked yesterday. Some dumbass was letting a child somewhere between infant and toddler crawl and half-ass walk around our lobby. Cute, right? Except stupid parent kept letting baby play around the AUTOMATIC DOOR. That's right. The door that I saw crush a giant honeybee one time. This wasn't the parent I don't think, it was some other sort of relative. I do believe that parents, etc are getting too overprotective and the days of wrapping children in bubble wrap are very close at hand, but a fucking automatic door? What the hell? Yesterday I went to my favorite local ultratrendy clothing store to do some shopping for my Texas trip. I'd name it, but if you live in the Nashville area you can probably figure it out. They were having an amazing sale, I managed to get two cute skirts for around $30. Nice. But I was dismayed to find that some items they carried were--well, the best way to put this is to ask if you're familiar with what the ladies on Flavor of Love wear? Yeah, that. More jewelry coming soon on e-bay so BUY IT, BITCHES.

Wow, has it been that long???
3/05/2006
Good times this weekend.
Flashy over Friday night. He's a sweetie. Saturday I did some shopping with Molly, bought a fabulous dress, fabulous shoes, etc. We then met at the Springwater to take in Richie Ghostfinger's solo show. It was pretty cool, but then you know I likes the one man bands. Good show, ended up at a party, then ended up at the lovely Hermitage Cafe for breakfast. Did you know that the average adult male has 5-22 pounds of fecal matter in his digestive tract? That's what Klee Irwin says. Did you know that the only thing that can warm you up better than biscuits and gravy is all the members of the Scorpions cuddling you? That's what Ghostfinger says. Sunday night was lots of bead shopping. Did you know there's a big ole bead store in the mall by my house? The mall that is otherwise totally worthless? And that there's a discount shoe shop? Oh my. Ended the evening at a benefit for Molly from Porter Hall, TN. Good times. Saw the ex. Don't think he knew I was there which is a blessing and a curse. Did you know that Reese Witherspoon is from Tennessee? Did you? I don't know how, she likes to keep that shit to herself. Criminy woman, we DO wear shoes now. And you aren't the first Tennesseean to win an academy award--in fact, you weren't even the ONLY Tennesseean to win an award THAT NIGHT. Ugh. Something tells me we won't soon hear the end of this. Additionally, you need to check out the link below to the earrings I made that are up for sale on e-bay. For reals. I've made a few other things, but I'm waiting until I get back from Austin before I list them.

Good times at Kazu
Met Molly at Kazu. Good times. Will Molly soon be a homeowner? Only time will tell!
I had the delicious spicy chicken lettuce wraps. Holy criminy, they're amazing. Mimosa was one of the drink specials, I ordered one. I was thinking Sangria for some reason, no idea why, so the Mimosa was a surprise. Dessert (or as the Brits call it, pudding) was the Flashback, perhaps the most amazing dessert ever concocted. an ice cream sandwich made from delicious sponge cake with ice cream. Wow.

It's ash wednesday
In other news: new cell phone! now I have two. You see, the story is I went to buy a new phone and the nice salesman did quite a bit of searching and told me that my monthly cost would not increase, but I would need to add a second line. Sure enough, I did, I got a big rebate, and now I have two cell phones with two numbers. Crazy! But that's how it goes. So we're a two cell phone family. Labels: pictures
