Schmoovecast 26 redux: Dr GAAAAAAAAY
Originally posted 10/5/2006.
A little spoiler regarding Project Runway. Just a warning. A bit of discussion of Queer Eye, Will and Grace, and Flavor of Love comparing the three. I've got an idea about a project but it'll cost a bit of money which I don't have. Good times. ![]() Labels: podcast, schmoovecast

Schmoovecast 25 redux: We're going on a halfassed manhunt
Originally posted 9/27/2006.
If I'm on the manhunt, that makes Dr Gay the halfass. Towards the end we discuss nashville places but it isn't any more boring than the rest. I would like to go on a date, currently accepting suitors. We get into that, our contest, and television. Rokken like Dokken. ![]() Labels: podcast, schmoovecast

Schmoovecast #24 redux: Buttband (repost)
Originially posted 9/21/2006.
Chatting with Dr Gay! It's cold in Minnesota. I'm in school! Dr G hasn't seen Citizen Kane. Who the hell is the AFI? I've got a Gocco! Support independent crafters, visit http://www.homeofthesampler.com for some of the products mentioned on this podcast. Who will win the contest? I don't know, but Dr G has cable now and is catching up on his popular culture. Would you buy ass smelling soap? AND more! ![]() Labels: podcast, schmoovecast

Not only is Dr G visiting from Minneaperlis but he also brought his AP English journal! Hot damn! So he reads a bit, we talk about the good ole days, podcasting, churches, my medication change. Best enjoyed with spinach and artichoke dip, preferably from the cleavage of a sassy redhead. Dr G wants to know who listens to this show so email comanche dot red at gmail dot com. So rock out, bitches. ![]() Labels: podcast, schmoovecast

Yep, I skipped 21 because it was so insipid I could hardly stand it. So here's the long awaited podcast debut of Dr Gay the Southern Expat. By're lakin! A parlous fear! There's a bit of echo, but you will get over that immediately. I was going to record an intro but I'm too lazy. Show best enjoyed with a gimlet AND a stella. pinkies up, ladies! email to comanche dot red at gmail dot com. ![]() Labels: podcast, schmoovecast

what the hell happened to all the podcasts?
5/19/2007
well, they're coming back. 22 and on needed some post production, so they will soon be coming back slowly but surely. I'll be posting a solo show for 49 and then 50 will be what we like to call the grand re-opening.

The White Stripes at the Cannery Ballroom
5/02/2007
Yes, it was every bit as good as you'd think. better even. It started the day before. I got an email that said tickets would go on sale at noon so there I was, trying well before the time. Hey, listen, I learned from trying to get breakfast in the castle with the princesses. You start minimum of ten minutes before to understand the process, then you pick up the pace within three minutes of the actual go time, and go and go until you're either jumping for joy or crying into your keyboard. So, I am successful--seriously, me, I was successful. I try to express this excitement to my co-workers but none of them understand. My mom does, though, as she loves the Jack White. I get an email shortly after from my friend Michelle, she was unable to get seats. seriously, three minutes after they went on sale. It's a big deal. It's a small venue and a great band. Friday is my sister's birthday. She says sure, she'll go, it'll be fun. Flash forward to her happy birthday dinner and we head out to the venue. Might I add that it's a fairly early door time? 7pm. So I go over to my sister's car and get asked TWICE for a ticket. My sister later informs me who one of the people was. I won't name him, but let's just say his Soul was probably not Satisfied. Let's see--there were also special edition $5 t-shirts (small only, but perhaps I can transform it, after all my mom did give me a nice book on how to do just that), Jack asked how his new home town of nashville was doing (just great, thankyou!), Jack's gun show (seriously, I don't remember him having nice arms before), Meg and her cymbals (without them they wouldn't be the same, but still...). Oh, and, yes, Heather Byrd; earlier in the night my sister and I questioned whether or not the ubiquitous nightlife columnist would be spotted. Lindsay said no, but sure enough, after the show, ta da! We decided that there needs to be a nashville nightlife bingo, she'd be the center/free square since she somehow manages to be everywhere at once. Afterwards we headed to Kazu where a gent was playing some really fun music. They played "Humpty Dance" during which my sister commented that she'd been listening to the radio earlier in the day thinking that hearing that one particular song would make her birthday. Hell yeah.

where have I been?
5/01/2007
Yes, I've been scarce lately but actually I haven't. What? I don't know. But for real, I've been blogging over at myspace for some reason, mainly because I get a little personal and kind of want to keep precious things precious. if you're my friend on myspace go right over there. If not, you're welcome to befriend me. I'm nice, I just sometimes like to keep some things a little more quiet.
Short version: I've been having palpitations and dizziness something fierce. I came off gleemonex blue a few days back and it's ROUGH. Or at least I think it's rough. No one's willing to admit it's as a result of coming off the meds, but I kind of think, well, it is a weird coincidence, right? Anyway, lots of tests, lots of prodding. I'm hooked up to a Holter monitor right now. Hey, so I'm watching this show on PBS about Mormons. Hey, did you know there was a whole series about mormons on PBS? I DID NOT. NONE OF YOU TOLD ME. You know I love mormons, why would you keep this from me? Why the hate? But at least I caught the conclusion. I am watching them talk a little about the history of the lds church and the anti-mormon sentiment across the US in the early days of the church and thinking hm, the backlash was on a larger scale but it's not unlike the backlash against Scientology nowadays. Now, I'm not a Scientologist, I do have my issues with their practices, but it is interesting. Labels: health, television

Sick day
I'm having some issues with dizziness and nausea. I'm pretty sure it's related to snri withdrawal but it was keeping me from working effectively. Anyway.
Denny woke me up at 4am panting heavily, licking at the air, and with his tail pointing directly at the ground. All signs pointed to the poops so I ran him outside where he proceeded to chew on grass and clover, this means I was off and he had an upset stomach. Poor doggie and all that but he could've vomited inside. So I take him in the house and point him to the water bowl where he drinks two bowls of water and the panting, etc stops. Dog only wanted water which annoys the crap out of me, he's got a nice water bowl upstairs that he won't touch because it makes a loud noise. Scaredy cat dog. Anyway, water was all he needed. Still, it's kind of good that he woke me up when he did, I was having a terrible dream about an armed attack at a roller derby bout. I can usually get myself out of a bad dream but not this time. I thought about just staying up but no, I ended up falling back asleep. Do you know what's on TV at 4am? Full House, that's what. Oh, and let me talk for a minute about the wonder of Heroes. Sure, it's SUCH an X Men rip off but damn if it isn't fun. Every episode has at least one "holy crap" moment, one breath holding moment, and it's always lots of fun. Where is my Hiro action figure???? Labels: denny, drama, dreams, television
