This has been a banner week for podcasts. With the new job I wasn't sure I'd be able to devote the time to listening tha tI had in the past, but it seems that they do not mind my slavish devotion to the ipod! I'm way behind so take that into consideration here.

In what is purely coincidence, I heard two separate pieces with Howard Dully, a man who had a trans-orbital lobotomy given by Dr Freeman himself. It's worth a listen for sure.

PRI's To The Best of Our Knowledge "Singular Brains." I suggest you listen to the full show. Not only is there a segment with Dully (he discusses the story above), but an interview with John Elder Robison who wrote a memoir about life with Asperger's. Robison is also the older brother of professional memoirist Augusten Burroughs. Oh, and Oliver Sacks is always interesting. Rock on.

The Bat Segundo Show: Chip Kidd. Firstly, Bat Segundo is one of my favorite podcasts. Secondly, I love Chip Kidd. Later on I'm going to the library to pick up The Learners, which I've been eagerly anticipating since I first heard of it. I recommend that you subscribe to this one; Ed's a fantastic interviewer.

Bob Edwards Weekend: interview with George Romero. Ok, I had no idea that this was available via podcast (I'm too cheap to spring for XM). I think that Bob got a bit of a raw deal from NPR so I'm glad that this is available to us civillians. you can listen to the entire podcast, but the Romero interview really grabbed me. Especially his involvement with Fred Rogers. You're going to have to find this one on the web site; the first link I provided made itunes pick this up as a podcast.

I have an opportunity. something fun. so I'm wondering if I've written a blog post that tickled your fancy? it can be old or new. probably old, since I don't update like I used to.
